About Young Endeavour Youth Scheme
The Young Endeavour Youth Scheme offers young Australians aged 16-23 the voyage of a lifetime - eleven days at sea with youth from all around the country, developing new skills and building enduring friendships while learning to sail the square-rigged tall ship STS Young Endeavour. Each voyage provides young Australians with a unique, challenging and inspirational experience - increasing their self-awareness and resilience, developing their teamwork and leadership skills, and creating an enduring sense of community responsibility. Participants meet youth from around the country, expanding their own horizons, and making friends for life. No sailing skills or experience are required. Our specially trained Royal Australian Navy crew teach our youth crew everything they need to know to sail the ship. At the end of each voyage the youth crew will elect a leadership team and take command of the 44 metre brigantine, sailing her along the Australian coast.
