About Young Men Becoming Men

Every society is burdened with its own significant population of youths who are either involved in juvenile delinquency or tottering on the edge of it. Either of these two groups poses a very real danger of becoming a menace to society. The crimes they commit hurt both the society and the youths themselves. There are many factors that contribute to the breeding of juvenile delinquents. For instance, children whose parents have been to prison are far more likely to show delinquent behavior than their peers. Sometimes, children just want to test their parents' limits, or society's limits. Living conditions, as exemplified by a child whose parents are divorced, in the United States, contributes fully 65% to current statistics on juvenile delinquency. This is because living arrangements are directly related to increases and decreases of poverty levels, which is another factor that is related to the chances a youth has of becoming a juvenile delinquent. Young Men Becoming Men, Inc. Youth Mentorship Program aims at employing constructive engagement at its Youth Resource Center, through the good offices and intentions of the Mentorship programs that are the primary motivators for this proposal, to enhance the social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth of these youths and young adults.
