Young People at Heart is a not-for-profit fostering organisation where outcomes for young people are paramount. Our name is our ethos. Quite simply, everything the organisation does has the interests of young people at heart and that’s the way Gary and Davina (co-founders) want it to stay so, Young People at Heart will remain not-for-profit, overseen by the Cox family, to provide a safe, secure and stable environment for the young people in our care and the Young People at Heart foster carers and staff. Our aim and objective is to achieve the best possible outcome for every young person placed in our care by providing a healthy and safe family environment in which the young person can develop to their full potential. As we work towards our objective of achieving the best possible outcome for every young person placed in our care, we have two simple but key values: Young people are at the heart of everything we do; and quality is the cornerstone of our organisation. Everything else, such as valuing and supporting our foster carers and staff, follows from these values in order to achieve our objective. What is Fostering? Fostering is where a young person lives with a foster family because they can’t live at home with their own family. Young people come into care for a wide variety of reasons and our aim is to provide care, security and emotional support for them in the homes of our carers. We achieve this by supporting our foster carers and staff every step of the way.
