About Young Women Politicians - פוליטיקאיות צעירות

"Young Women Politicians" is a social, educational and political initiative aimed at increasing the number of women serving as elected officials on the national and local levels in Israel. Today, the representation of women in elected and public positions is lacking. Women account for more than 50% of the general population in Israel, however the female representation in The Knesset is 25% and in the local authorities only 20%. When women are not a part of the decision-making process, their voice is not heard. They are not present and therefor are not taken into consideration, nor do they take part in shaping the common life for the citizens of the state. The program includes personal meetings with women engaged in politics, both at the national level as well as the local ones. We provide knowledge and tools on key issues on the public agenda, strengthening self-confidence and persuasion. In addition, the program includes tours to the Knesset and municipality. We are building a community of young women who LOVE politics, and have been able to maintain independence. This allows women from all political spectrums to reach us and the grant will allow us to continue to maintain political neutrality.
