About YoungMD Connect

From the creators of MillennialEYE and Eyetube, YoungMD Connect is a platform to connect aspiring and young ophthalmologists with their peers and mentors. Supporting the next generation of ophthalmologists isn’t new for BMC Vision. Since the 2013 launch of MillennialEYE—a digital publication and online community designed exclusively for young ophthalmologists—BMC has invested in educating and connecting the future leaders in our field. Now, we’ve taken our support to the next level with YoungMD Connect. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the team behind YoungMD Connect dug deeper to understand the pain points for trainees and new-to-practice ophthalmologists. The findings were clear: mentorship and educational opportunities were lacking. From these needs, YoungMD Connect was born. Our team is passionate about supporting the next generation of eye care leaders. We come from a background of publishing, science, communications, and entrepreneurship. Between us, we’ve done everything from managing clinical trials and patents in eye care, to supporting emerging leaders on their path to the podium, to industry news reporting, to leveraging social media to provide solutions in niche markets. We know that, ultimately, your goal is to deliver the best patient care—YoungMD Connect provides the tools for you to make sure you end up where you want to be.
