About Youth and Philanthropy Initiative Canada
The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is a multi-award-winning approach to inclusive, participatory grant-making that empowers youth ages 14-16 to formally advocate for social issues and services that are important to them and to their community. YPI's practices and outcomes are linked to the strongest current evidence for supporting positive youth development. Our approach has provided over 300,000 teenagers across Canada with a purpose, a path, and a platform for their voices to be heard about important community issues since 2002, and every year we grant hundreds of thousands of dollars to support solutions to challenges facing their communities, based entirely on youth research, advocacy, and recommendations.
