About Youth Arts: Unlocked
Youth Arts: Unlocked - co founded by Shelley Spivack & Steven Hull in 2011 is a non profit organization that brings dance, spoken word poetry, theatre, visual arts, and yoga workshops to Genesee County youth who are involved in the criminal justice system. The workshops allow for the youth to express their experiences artistically along with building communication skills and self esteem. Youth Arts: Unlocked brings the youths' created pieces to art exhibits hoping that the public recognize justice involved youth have something to give back to community and dispels some of the myths that surround the label of "juvenile offenders".
