About Youth Development Foundation
Youth Development Foundation (YDF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, women, and minorities in Pakistan through capacity-building and civic engagement. With 15+ years of experience, YDF has strengthened 25+ universities, 30+ religious seminaries (madrasas), and hyper-local actors across 50+ districts in three provinces. Through its initiatives, YDF has empowered 25,000+ youth members and developed a faith-based resilience network of 20,000+ alumni, volunteers, and members working on religious freedom, minority inclusion, youth empowerment, and interfaith harmony. YDF collaborates with district, provincial, and federal government bodies to promote youth-oriented policies that celebrate Pakistan’s cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and religious diversity. It is actively working with the Punjab Assembly to build the capacity of young parliamentarians on religious freedom, minority inclusion, and climate resilience, ensuring that legislative efforts are more inclusive and responsive to pressing social challenges. Recently, YDF has worked with the Ministry of Human Rights, Minority Affairs, and Interfaith Harmony to draft Punjab’s Interfaith Harmony Strategy and was appointed as a board member of the Punjab Youth Volunteer Task Force for Corona Relief, initiated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. This highlights YDF’s evolution from a community-driven to a policy-influencing organization. YDF has signed MOUs with 20 civil society organizations and 20 public sector universities in Punjab, Sindh, and KP. It also has a strong network of partners, including ILOGIC, Emerging Leaders of Pakistan, Karachi Youth Initiative, Acumen Fellows, Pakistan-United States Alumni Network, and Punjab Youth Council. YDF has worked with EU, USAID, UKAID, USIP, UN agencies, Qatar Foundation, British Council, ICRD, Finland Church Aid, Swiss Mission Office, and the Punjab Government, strengthening its impact on youth and minority empowerment.
