About Youth Environmental Warriors - YEW

The original concept of Youth Environmental Warriors: an online platform which acts as a central location for youth (aged 18-30) and environmental organisations to connect and collaborate. The platform itself is planned to be released in September as it is still under development. Our service is first to facilitate environmental organisations to find suitable volunteers to assist them with whatever they need. Secondly we aim to help youth connect with environmentally-minded organisations that have the protection of nature as their goal. An online resource centre where youth and organisations can collaborate and find one another with ease. YEW fulfils the needs of passionate environmental youth wanting to enter the environmental sector and boost their skills, experience and visibility. YEW also fulfils the needs of environmental NGOs to champion and utilise youth in supporting them and their ongoing and ever increasing work to support nature. YEW is an intangible service that: Provides a place for youth to find volunteering opportunities Helps connect environmental NGOs with youth that can help them and creates a resource centre for both youth and NGOs. Creates a space to network for youth and organisations with conferences, social media, feedback events and encourages more collaboration between organisations Types of volunteering opportunities youth can expect: Physical volunteering Virtual/online volunteering Event organising on behalf of a cause/organisation Introductions /connections to organisations if suitable/applicable Small tasks that have been requested by NGOs
