About Youth Power Coalition
We’re youth leaders and adult allies building an intergenerational movement for youth-led collective impact - intergenerational = people of all ages contribute - movement = we self-organize, take action, and are made up of people working together - youth-led = young people most impacted by inequity lead - collective impact = both outcome and process. The outcome is that all young people thrive. The process is community-led, comprehensive, co-creative, equity-centered, well-capitalized, caring, and courageous. Movements need community, leadership development, resources, shared information, and advocacy to succeed. We self-organize to provide these to one another. Members can join an existing action project or form their own with other YPC members. Actions include things like hosting events that bring young people together so they know they're not alone, connecting young people to government positions so that youth are represented, sharing stories of young people's work so that everyone can see how important young people are in making a difference, training young people on how to lead teams, raising money so young people have what they need to do these actions, and more. Examples of our actions include: - Youth Voting Rights: Advocating for Lowering the Voting Age to 16 - Youth Power Hub: Online community for youth leaders and adult allies to share information and collaborate - Mass Movement Training: Creating accessible and peer-to-peer leadership training - Youth Power Consulting: Guiding organizations that are shifting from being adult-centric to intergenerational
