About Youth Rise

Youth Rise is a prevention based youth organization based in Alberta focused on empowering youth from vulnerable communities to reach their full God-given potential. We do this by walking alongside them in mentoring relationships and offering wrap-around support designed to eradicate barriers keeping them from success. We are hyper local in the sense that we seek out neighbourhoods with high vulnerability factors for youth and establish presence by offering a variety of programs designed to create engagement and transformation. All Youth in difficult circumstances hold intrinsic value. We endeavour to help establish life giving communities and resources to ensure a better future for them. Many caring adults want to make a difference in the lives of marginalized youth in our city. It can be gut wrenching to hear stories of so many young people experiencing things they never should have to experience. Trauma such as intense poverty, physical and sexual abuse, abandonment from parents, bullying, and loneliness are just a few things that effect countless youth in our city. At Youth Rise we want young people facing these types of lives to feel like they are not alone. We want to empower and awaken caring adults in our city to invest into the lives of youth in difficult circumstances. All young people, no matter their background, deserve advocates surrounding them. No one should face adversity alone. We create community based youth drop-in centres and run programming such as low cost/ free sports, mentorship, tutoring, job preparation, and spiritual enrichment. Through this we can ensure our youth receive leadership development skills needed for their family, communities, and their own personal success.
