About Youth Theatre Arts Scotland
Youth Theatre Arts Scotland (YTAS) is the national development organisation and umbrella body for Scotland’s youth theatre artists, audiences and leaders. It transforms lives by providing inspiring participatory opportunities for young people, and connecting, supporting and training the professionals and volunteers who work with them. YTAS delivers its work through a combination of; youth theatre projects, training and professional development, and information and advocacy. Since the organisation was established in 2004, YTAS has made a significant contribution year on year to the growth in the scale, diversity and impact of youth theatre in Scotland. As a result of this work: - 16,500 young people are now involved in youth theatre activity every week. - They are supported by a network of 1800 staff and volunteers. - YTAS has over 125 members operating throughout all 32 local authorities. - 1,250 sector professionals and volunteers have attended our training and networking events.
