MISSION Youth Yoga exists to empower and inspire teens in schools by giving them yoga exercises and meditation tools from which they will grow into confident adults and successful members of our society. WHO WE ARE Youth Yoga is a 501c3 non-profit organization with current collaborations at local schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. We teach weekly yoga and meditation classes as part of the state-approved PE curriculum. Youth Yoga also hosts an annual program called Youth Yoga Week which introduces yoga to over 1200 teens each year. We pride ourselves in providing yoga to kids of all demographics, and, the core of our mission is fulfilled in under-served and at-risk communities of Los Angeles. VISION Youth Yoga’s vision is to serve the greater Los Angeles area as the staple organization in which institutions rely on to improve the physical and mental well-being of students- a necessary compliment to academic education. Here is where we are going: 1 year - Establish Youth Yoga programs with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and other organizations, offering programs during school hours as well as after school programs. 3 year – Open a Youth Yoga Center in Los Angeles, CA. Here, Youth Yoga will offer a diverse range of bilingual yoga and meditation classes for little or no cost to kids, teens and parents of under-served communities. Additionally, all staff, volunteers, and ambassadors will receive training and resources here as we continue our growth within the community by partnering with LAUSD and other educational institutions. 5 year – Provide Youth Yoga programs across all LAUSD schools, and, we will expand the Youth Yoga Center to serve more communities with more program offerings.
