Yvonne van den Herik is visual artist and owner of Yvonne van den Herik - art & projects. Yvonne van den Herik prefers to draw with indian ink and brush on paper or with a pressure sensitive pen (freehand) on an digital tablet using both, simultaneously and alternatively, in the process of creation. All works are somehow related to the fascination with visual perception. In the studio visual spatial thinking and intuition direct a process of transforming and mixing fragments of previous drawings, which leads to ongrowing visualisations and ongoing explorations. In this process formal aspects, like connecting and disconnecting, turned out to be ever recurring themes. Longing for XL drawings and experimenting with scale Van den Herik currently also makes black & white tape drawings with self-made tape on walls and windows. Additional to exhibiting and selling these works in art galleries, Yvonne van den Herik also initiates and directs art projects, to create independent and experimental platforms for artistic research and live drawing-performances. Running since 2008: Art in Progress, Wanderdrawing, Een-ode-aan, Art-moves-art and Re-View.
