About YWAM

Mobilising and training people to work with children at risk: street children, children in slums, children with HIV/AIDS, abandoned children, deaf children, etc In YWAM Belo Horizonte, we are currently a group of about 100 fulltime staff from different nations, united by radical obedience to the command of our Lord Jesus, to “go into all the world…” It is our passion to know God and to make Him known, especially among the poor children, teenagers and their families, living on the streets and in the urban slums of the big cities of the world. We believe that God is calling us to work towards a transformation in the spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, social and economic areas of their lives. In YWAM – Belo Horizonte this has resulted in the foundation of 8 ministry homes (open homes, shelters and community centers), additional projects and 4 different training courses. As YWAM Belo Horizonte we aim to set a good standard for ministry to children and adolescents at risk, which can serve as a model for churches and other mission organizations. We have been able to train hundreds of young people from all over the world in YWAM Belo Horizonte, through training schools, seminars and internships in the areas of Children at Risk (CAR) , HIV/AIDS and Foundations in Community Development; and we offer nationally and internationally consulting services and training, to see projects multiplied, and the Gospel preached in a practical and integrated way in the big cities around the world.
