Z Lens LLC makes the best Dual Mode Accommodative-Disaccommodative IOL ever produced and has the most accommodation & movement of any device ever tested. A Dual Mode AD-IOL has both axial shift and shape shift of an elastic optic, like the natural lens. Zonular Capture Haptic technology creates a functional bond between zonules and the intraocular lens systems bypassing role of the capsular bag and such allows the development of a completely novel Accommodative-Disaccommodative Intraocular Lens (AD-IOL) System. Our new approach, proven in primate animal models, solves the rigidity problem associated with the capsular bag contraction and fibrosis following cataract surgery. Capsular bag rigidity is the common denominator that limits the effectiveness of current accommodative intraocular lenses. We believe our method will become an effective and preferred alternative for cataract patients seeking an IOL implant, and specifically it will offer an effective surgical treatment for the problem of presbyopia induced by aging of the human lens. The ZCH technology breaks the limitations inherent in all current "in the bag" accommodative IOL’s (A-IOL) and allows unhindered transmission of accommodative and disaccommodative forces and amplitude of movement generated by the ciliary body and elastic structures of the eye. The Zonular Capture Haptic can work equally well with any present or future optic/IOL designs, single or double, rigid or flexible optics. The Zonular Capture Intraocular Lens System exploits these zonular capture capabilities fully to generate amplitude of accommodation. Z Lens LLC can partner or license technology to any IOL manufacturer.
