Founded in 1979, Z Specialty Food is home to Island of the Moon Apiaries and Moon Shine Trading Co., all based at The Hive, the first varietal honey and mead tasting room of its kind. A passion for honey bees sparked during a time of self-discovery, Ishai Zeldner founded the company after working as a commercial beekeeper in Israel and California. Today, Ishai’s family carries on the vision.
