Our Goals Providing support for families of children and youth in mental health facilities, using a variety of methods to give parents strength and enable them to focus on their child’s treatment. Providing assistance in coping with the challenges, the burden, and the suppression and denial characteristic of children and youth undergoing treatment in facilities for young people. Organizing activities and publicity campaigns to change public perception toward children and youth suffering from mental health issues, with the express goal of advocating for their acceptance in society and the breaking of existing stigmas. The Vision The vision of Within My Self is to improve the quality of life for children and youth hospitalized in mental health facilities. In particular, Within My Self intends to provide the families of young mental health patients with experiences and moments of joy, to serve as points of light during the journey toward a stable and healthy life. The organization will labor to eliminate stigmas; to increase public awareness regarding young people suffering from mental health problems; to enable the patients and their families to be open about their situation; to endure and overcome the discrimination of society commonly experienced by those with mental health problems and their families.
