About ZeoMem Sweden
ZeoMem Sweden AB is a spin-off company that emerged from 30 years of research about zeolite membranes at Luleå University of Technology. The company was founded in 2015 with the aim to commercialize the unique properties of ultra-thin zeolite membranes in separation and upgrading of a variety of different types of gas mixtures e.g. separation of carbon dioxide from synthesis gas or natural gas, separation of heavy hydrocarbons from natural gas, separation of ethylene from nitrogen, to name just a few. The driving force for this commercialization was the apparent need for a more energy efficient process in the gas separation industry. It offers an alternative to very energy consuming distillation and amine scrubber processes that need a lot of expensive heat. Membrane based chemical separations would be up to 10 times more energy efficient.
