About ZF Visa Guides

We are a team of former Career Diplomats with the U.S. Department of State. We spent much of our time with the U.S. Foreign Service abroad, where we worked as Consular Officers (commonly referred to as Visa Officers). Through thousands of interactions with visa applicants, we gained a deep understanding for how Visa Officers conduct interviews and ultimately reach their decisions. We witnessed many international students fail at their interview due to poor preparation or bad advice from others - often not likely because they were unqualified for their visas. After retiring from government service, We launched ZF Visa & Immigration - an immigration law firm focused specifically on consulate interview strategy and preparation. After helping hundreds of international students, we realized that many students had the same questions and concerns around their F-1 visa applications. So we decided to create the ZF Visa Guides to offer our experience and insight to help all international students understand what to expect at their interview and arrive prepared, confident, and ready for success.
