About Zimasa Vodka

Origin Founded by three passionate individuals, Zimasa Vodka was created to celebrate their homeland’s rich heritage and unique culture. Inspired by their childhood memories of locals foraging Masau fruit with their families, they set out to create a beverage that captured the essence of Zimbabwe. After years of experimenting with traditional distillation methods and the finest local ingredients, they perfected a recipe that truly reflects their heritage. Foraged in Zimbabwe Our vodka's unique flavour comes from the Masau fruit in Zimbabwe. Traditionally, after being sun-dried for a few days these fruits can be used to make a traditional beverage called "Kachasu". Ziziphus Mauritania, the tree that produces Masau fruit, grows wildly and is part of agro-forestry systems that boost production, positively affect micro-climates, minimise soil degradation, restore soil fertility, and diversify income opportunities for the local families. UK Distilled Zimasa Vodka is meticulously handcrafted in small batches, the Zimbabwean Masau fruit is distilled a minimum of six times, at the 17th Century Hensol Castle Distillery by Master Distiller - Dai Wakely who developed a process to enhance the flavour with distinct notes of dry apple and plum. We Launched! After perfecting the Zimasa recipe, we finalised our formula by the summer of 2023. Since then, we've been actively promoting our brand across the UK and have already been privileged to win Silver at the London Spirits Competition 2024. Zero Waste As a company, we are committed to making our supply chain zero waste by 2026. We believe that sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a responsibility that we owe to our planet and future generations.
