Product Overview The biomechanical winning testing results (superior resistance to rip-through and gap formation, increased contact area per suture and gradual transfer of forces from the repair device to the healing tissue with time-allowing for proper biologic tissue remodeling) are transferring to clinical results with earlier return to function, which are based upon ZipE’s design characteristics. Post-operative ultrasound shows better organized collagen fibers, which indicates better tissue regeneration. Company Overview Ziptek is an FDA registered medical device spec manufacturer, which owns all of its design specs. The company has 21 issued patents in 10 countries and received clearance from the FDA for tissue repair in 2017 with over 24 Indications for use in 5 major joints. The resorbable knotless implant was implanted beginning in the spring of 2018. With some surgical cases there is over 15 months follow-up. Clinical results are excellent with earlier return to function than seen with other repair devices. To date, the device has been implanted for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with bone anchors and with a trans-osseous technique, triceps avulsion repair, quadriceps disruption repair, medial collateral ligament repair in the knee, Haglunds-Achilles repair, lateral and deltoid ankle ligament repair and subscapularis closure over total shoulder replacement.
