About Zonta Club of Toronto

The Zonta Club of Toronto is committed to advancing the status of women through service projects in our local community, and to supporting the efforts of Zonta International to improve the status of women worldwide. Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions, with over 30,000 members in more than 1,200 clubs in 63 countries. Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux Indian word meaning, "honest and trustworthy". 2012 will mark our 85th year of service to the Toronto community. Since 2011 we have worked with Sistering, a women's agency serving homeless, marginalized and low-income women in Toronto. We sponsor scholarships at The Michener Institute, Woodsworth College of the University of Toronto and Ryerson University. We are also proud to have recently assembled in excess of 1000 birthing kits for distribution internationally in co-operation with the Mennonite Central Committee.
