Jansdotter paints monumental, and with a cheeky wink to the 'normal' rules in painting. Her works are a fusion between material and subject where the figures simultaneously contrast with, and blend into the background. The female figure and its strength and weakness is a recurring element. In her paintings Birgitta expresses the ongoing roleplay between people. Jansdotter began her career in Sweden and lives since 2001 in the Netherlands . She has exhibited in galleries and Art fairs in South Korea, China, United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands and recived 4 ArtAwards in Sweden and The Netherlands. In the summer of 2017 her work was to be seen in the Summerexhibition of Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle in The Netherlands and in the well known Kunstenfestival Watou in Belgium. In the summer of 2018 (4 months) her paintings is to be seen in NordArt in Büdelsdorf, Germany, one of the largest annual exhibitions of contemporary art in Europe.
