About Acre Family Child Care
Acre Family Child Care (AFCC) is a non-profit serving the greater Lowell, Massachusetts area since 1988. We help women build licensed, home-based family child care businesses and support them in providing community-based child care to the families of greater Lowell. Our goals are to empower women to become successful small business owners, and help to build economic stability in Lowell. AFCC provides care for nearly 400 children every day, including overnight and weekend child care for parents working 2nd and 3rd shifts, in a network of family child care homes. Acre staff visit the homes to monitor the quality of care, and provide transportation for children to and from care sites. We offer parent education, family support services, and early childhood training programs in multiple languages throughout the year.
