About AIDAEurope

AIDA Europe is a non-profit organisation devoted to furthering the study and knowledge, also the sound development and practical application, of international and national insurance laws across Europe. A non-profit association according to Swiss Law, with its seat in Zurich/Switzerland, AIDA Europe was first created in 2007 as a regional grouping of national members of AIDA (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances | International Insurance Law Association) – www.aidainsurance.org. AIDA Europe draws on the combined resources of 23 AIDA National Sections which are presently members of AIDA Europe, plus 3 centrally affiliated ARIAS societies (ARIAS Germany, ARIAS (UK) and CEFAREA – ARIAS France) and pursues its aims, in the interest of all stakeholders, through an evolving mix of the: · furtherance of the study and knowledge of international and national insurance law and of related matters; · proposition of measures aiming at the harmonisation of insurance law or the means for resolution of insurance disputes; · facilitation of exchange of academic know-how between its Members or any other European organization similarly concerned with insurance-related matters; and · support of academic work in the field of insurance, e.g. through co-operation with universities or the sponsoring of academic research and papers. AIDA Europe’s Conferences, webinar series, website materials and other activities and initiatives of among others, their Scientific and In-house Counsel committees, offer a platform and repository for an open and solution-minded dialogue on key developments in insurance, reinsurance and related law, also supporting its members in their respective endeavours. These are open publicly and are regularly attracting representatives from all areas such as the insurance sector, academia, private practice, regulatory authorities or those responsible for law-making.
