About Al Zaytona University of Science & Technology (ZUST)
Al Zaytona University of Science and Technology (ZUST) is a new Palestinian university that was established as an educational investment development project to serve as an academic hub. ZUST aims to offer a set of new programs and specializations that support the needs of the local and global markets, particularly in the area of science and technology. ZUST, which is located in the central Palestinian Governorate of Salfit, has commenced its journey through the launch of its first academic year of 2020-2021. ZUST’s vision is to become a globally renowned university in education, scientific research and community service, be capable of creating and disseminating knowledge and contribute to achieving sustainable development. ZUST’s general objectives include contributing to the provision of academic and technical higher education opportunities for high school graduates and create diverse programs with different levels that lead to recognized academic degrees. They also include a focus on quality education and enhancement of the interactive relationship between the university and society. ZUST believes in academic freedom and innovation, among other values. ZUST maintains an international advisory board that differs from its board of directors and board of trustees in composition and authorities. Most of its members are foreign academics with a long experience in higher education. The members of the advisory board are invited twice a year to the university to offer their opinions and advice concerning what has been achieved and what is planned for the near future.
