Allerpet, Inc. is one of the oldest and most respected allergen avoidance product manufacturers in the world. Its products, Allerpet, DeMite, Eat My Dust and Fabric Sealer, are distributed by specialty retailers in the U.S. and major importers in Canada, Europe, Asia and South America. All of its products are US made and focus on allergen reduction in the home, so that allergic individuals can live more comfortably regardless of their allergic sensitivities. Beginning in the late 1980’s, the Allerpet Company began selling its signature product, Allerpet, through veterinary product suppliers and clinics as well as allergy products companies like National Allergy Supply and Allergy Control Products. Unlike shampoos that can dry out a pet’s skin, Allerpet is used as a damp wipe to remove dander from a pet’s fur and soften the pet’s skin so it produces less dander. DeMite laundry additive was introduced in the year 2000 so that dust mite allergic individuals could avoid washing all of their bedding in extremely hot water, a practice commonly recommended by allergy physicians. It rapidly became one of the most popular allergen avoidance products of all time. Recently, Allerpet, Inc. was purchased by Steve Hill and John Fry, both formerly in the marketing department at National Allergy Supply.
