About An Mea

An Meá (pronounced "arn mar") means "the balance" in Irish Gaelic. An Meá was established in 1997 by Steve Williams and Seán O'Donnell. Our business has flourished under the guiding principle that protecting people and the planet is good for business - yours and ours. This is what we call "sustainable development". Adhering to this principle requires a different approach to business. Our people, goals and values make us different. They are the platform for our success. From our base in Sydney, Australia, we deliver a range of products, services and programs to an international network of clients. One bottom line - 3 foundations. People. Planet. Profit. Companies can no longer afford to take a 'profit at any cost' approach. Focusing solely on your bottom line simply demonstrates that you lack vision. So, why does An Meá emphasise "one bottom line"? It's because a business that achieves world-best environmental and social performance, but fails to make a financial return, will not survive in the long-term.
