About Arabic Language Centre
The Arabic Language Centre (ALC) was established in 1980 to teach Arabic as a foreign language. Founder, Maliha Wehbe, developed a unique method of teaching Arabic, making it easier for our students to learn. Based at Dubai World Trade Centre, ALC is the only language school in Dubai to teach Arabic from beginners through to A-Level (advanced). Our public courses run six times a year and are offered during the daytime and evening for maximum flexibility. ALC also provides corporate courses for some of Dubai's most prestigious businesses, which can be tailored to their specific industry. All of ALC's teachers are native Arabic speakers and are enthusiastic, friendly, professional and most importantly, passionate about the Arabic language. They are also fully-trained in the Maliha Wehbe method to maintain ALC's structured courses and are the key people that make the learning fun and effective. ALC's unique method of teaching Arabic focuses on oral communication skills - a mix of communicative Arabic and a simplified form of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). It allows students to be understood throughout the Arab world, whilst helping them to understand and be aware of other regional accents and expressions. The structured classes are comprehensive and designed to teach vocabulary and topics relevant to every day tasks and communications. This simplified approach helps students to learn and speak the language in a natural way via the Arabic script, rather than via the English transliteration.
