About architecture walks and talks

Specialising in custom-designed tours of Basel and its surroundings, with focus on urban spaces and built forms; addressing issues ranging from architecture's historic context to its place in the present day urban fabric, from particular building's material characteristics and aesthetic qualities to its functionality and sustainability. Each tour participant gets a link to a digital handout with the walk's itinerary and basic information about places visited. We also offer custom-designed seminars that address topics such as the importance of light, colour and texture in architecture; place of nature in the built environment; the idea of architecture as our third skin; the relationship between climate and architecture, etc. Although our focus is on Basel, these seminars allow us to make connections between the local / contemporary and the far away / historical / imagined. All walks and talks are researched and presented by Dina Bonefacic-Mihaljek, M.Arch. - an architect by training, educated in Europe and the U.S., and a longtime resident of the Basel area.
