Assisted Cycling Tours (ACT) was started in 2007, by parents of children with various disabilities who wanted to be able to give their entire family a chance to be together as a family doing something healthy. ACT was developed as a response to a glaring community need for an outlet for multiple issues for families of people with disabilities. ACT is genuinely 100% inclusive & 1 of a kind! We work with any disability & any age range & include the entire family. We also provide the equipment for our participants since the cost can be extremely prohibitive GOALS There are multiple goals for ACT, which were realized as a direct need of its clientele * Physical exercise for people with disabilities & their families as well * Shift the life experiences of the person with the disability, their family & society as a whole * Give the person with the disability, as well as their family, a new perspective on their abilities and for the family as an entire family unit * Sense of freedom & self-confidence that comes with riding a bike CURRENT PROGRAMS We currently offer 4 programs Local programs include clinics & day trips. Clinics are offered for someone of a beginner, or haven’t ridden in a long time, rider. Our day trips are designed for the beginner/intermediate rider Non-local programs are overnight trips & longer week-long excursions. Our overnight & longer trips include both biking & some other sport(s). These programs around/outside Colorado
