Black Drop Shop is a creative-obsessed apparel, photography and furniture/home decor production company run by owners Samantha and Amanda. While both partners have a say in everything, Samantha is the mind behind the madness with most things creative while Amanda is the business-minded guru behind the scenes. Black Drop Shop designs T-Shirts, produces photography, and loves creating/repurposing/ refinishing furniture and other home necessities, keeping in mind functionality as well as creativity. Black Drop Shop was created by Samantha and Amanda in beautiful Austin, Texas. Raised (and almost born) in Austin, Samantha was surrounded by all things weird, music, and movies, and was always nurtured to pursue whatever fascinated her at the time. That shows up in the Black Drop Shop creations and product lines - it's hard to make a decision on just a few things to create when there are is so much more out there to bring to reality! Samantha has always had a love of photography and studied it further while receiving her BS in Advertising from The University of Texas. The need to create overtook her and she left her corporate role in 2016 to pursue the creative world full-time. Amanda was born and raised near Dallas, Texas and completely fell in love with Austin and moved there in early 2001. Amanda brings in the business mind to the mix, but make no mistake, is full of creativity as well! Amanda came from a long, gifted line of musicians (one of those being a grandmother who played violin in the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra until well into her 90s!) and has always had a passion for art, singing, cooking and spreadsheets... this brings a very useful and interesting mix to the table. Amanda is a true go-getter and started running her first business at the ripe old age of 17! She has worked for herself and in corporate roles throughout her career, but truly loves to create...whether that's creating a recruiting team or a beautiful vanity!
