About Black Male Initiative Georgia
Black Male Initiative seeks to create and promote a positive narrative about Black Men in our homes, communities & abroad by highlighting the outstanding work of Black Men. BMI is committed to advocating for & advancing effective reforms for Black Men & Youth in the areas of civic engagement/voter empowerment, criminal justice reform, education, health & economic justice. We further commit to stand in support of the exceptional work of Black Women creating a vanguard of collaboration that will enrich our communities overall. The men of BMI represent a collective of community leaders, fathers, and diverse ideologies of what it means to be a black man. Black Male Initiative is working to recapture and shift the narrative and continue fighting against the suppression of Black people, especially Black Men. We are recapturing and reshifting the narrative about Black Men. Our organization represents a collective of community leaders, elected officials, fathers, and diverse ideologies of what it means to be a Black Man in our homes, communities and abroad. We recognize and value our achievements and believe our deep and meaningful collaboration with Black Women is the cornerstone of our communities. Our most powerful resources, the wisdom and passion of our elders and youth, empower us to advance effective reforms and advocates for our community in 40 programs in our five pillars of work: Civic Engagement, Education, Economic Empowerment, Criminal/Restorative Justice, Black Mental Health and Wellness.
