About Blue Mountain Power Co-op
Blue Mountain Power Co-op is an electric power distribution service provider with over 70 years of experience in providing dependable power to over 3700 rural sites across west-central Alberta. We proudly provide electric power services to rural residential, agricultural, and commercial members. As of 2020, we’ve expanded to serve rural industry and oil & gas companies. Starting in 1952 as Rocky Rural Electrification Association (Rocky REA), the organization has since amalgamated with Lockhart REA in 1999 and Horseguard REA in 2005. Blue Mountain Power Co-op adopted the trade name in 2019 and has grown over the years to become a diverse and dynamic power cooperative serving members throughout our service area, which spans a large portion of Clearwater County and into Lacombe County, Ponoka County, and Red Deer County. As a member-owned cooperative, we are owned by those we serve. Delivering power to rural communities allows us to contribute to the collective prosperity and wellbeing of our members and our community. We are committed to providing timely, efficient, and cost-effective power distribution; with skilled professionals, rigorous safety standards, and proven history of meeting our commitments. We believe that operating under a cooperative framework, in combination with sound business practices, is the best way to deliver unparalleled value to our members.
