About Bright Young Things
Bright Young Things Drama Company was founded in 2010 by LAMDA trained actor and primary school teacher, Lisa Duffy. Since then, Bright Young Things has grown and is renowned for its acclaimed drama programme and approach to developing soft skills. Today Bright Young Things runs weekly schools and holiday drama camps across Northern Ireland, as well as delivering workshops, after-school clubs and teacher training in primary, secondary and SEN schools. Igniting curiosities and encouraging self belief in children and young people through the power of play and drama: that’s what we are all about! Whether its to boost your little byt’s CONFIDENCE, COMMUNICATION or CREATIVE THINKING or more general to invest in their overall soft skills, the ‘BYT Effect’ will positively impact their journey to through life. Our talented team are some of the most highly trained professional actors, arts education leaders and trained facilitators in the business. The BYT organisation is 100% child-centric and focused on developing the whole child by delivering personalised drama journeys which have an immeasurable impact on the lives of our ‘bright young things’. BYT is a unique space for them to learn life skills, drama skills, be themselves and have an outrageous amount of fun!. BYT also works in schools offering after schools classes, drama curriculum support and inset training days, as well as in the community delivering workshops for public and private organisations. Whatever the brief, we use drama to take people outside their comfort zones, to get them on their feet and out of their heads, to build confidence, communication and creativity and to learn new behaviours, empathy and how to handle difficult situations.
