About Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance
Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance (BNGA) is a Native-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working across the Northern Great Plains (NGP) ecoregion. We collaborate with a broad coalition of partners including Tribal governments, programs and departments, Native-led organizations, conservation groups, and funding partners, to support conservation and build sustainable livelihoods for the 16 Native Nations of this region. BNGA envisions Native Nations uniting so the diversity of life in the NGP flourishes — for current and future generations. Through Indigenous leadership, ecological restoration, and culturally grounded stewardship, BNGA empowers Native Nations to plan and act on their vision for their traditional lands and waters. Our work centers on reconnecting people and nature, restoring healthy grasslands and native wildlife, and strengthening Tribal leadership in environmental and economic resilience. Together, we are restoring lands, uplifting communities, and creating Grasslands for Generations.
