About Capnography Capstone
By providing medical staff with the skills and knowledge necessary to use capnography effectively, hospitals can help prevent adverse events, provide earlier diagnoses, and reduce hospital stays, resulting in significant cost savings. For large hospitals, the potential annual marginal loss due to sepsis can be as much as $34 million, a significant expense associated with preventable adverse events, delayed diagnoses, and prolonged hospital stays. Implementing a Capnography training program helps hospitals avoid these costs and reduces the need for more costly interventions such as mechanical ventilation or admission to the intensive care unit. About our founder Don Guillette: Considerable experience of over "3" decades as an instructor, specializing in EMT and Paramedic with an AS degree in Emergency Medical Service (AS-EMS) and Fire Science (AS-FS) in 2006, along with obtaining an RN (ASN)nursing degree in 2007. Firefighter of the Year for Lake Alfred Fire Department in 1992, First place award in 1999 and 2000 for Orange County Advanced Cardiac Life Support Competition, Polk Community College (Currently Polk State College) Endowed Teaching Chair recipient 2004. University of Miami Instructor of the Year 2010, University of Miami "Above and Beyond Award" 2018. University of Miami Gordon Center School of Research and Medicine “Distinguished Contributor Award” 2019. Between 2004 and 2021, Don traveled throughout the US teaching while employed as a core instructor at the Gordon Center of Research and Medical Education at the University of Miami. In 2014, Mr. Guillette received a U.S. Patent for his invention of an Emergency Ventilation Apparatus, System, and Method. In 2021, he developed a lecture and online course on capnography titled “Capnography Capstone.” He then authored a book titled “Capnography—More Than Just Numbers,” which is set for publication in January 2023.
