Capricorn Enterprise is one of Queensland’s thirteen membership based Regional Tourism Organisations and is recognised as the economic development organisation for the Capricorn region within Central Queensland. Capricorn Enterprise is responsible for strategically marketing the Capricorn region to domestic and international consumers, trade, media and business, and for supporting and developing industry projects, attracting large scale investment and driving the region’s economy forward. Capricorn Enterprise seeks to be recognised as a vibrant and professional organisation that delivers sound leadership to the Capricorn region’s tourist operators and helps drive the future development of events, business & leisure tourism in the region. Capricorn Enterprise works with partners, sponsors and members to: promote the Capricorn region as a desirable holiday destination within regional, state, national and international markets, ensure the community within the region has a high level of understanding of the benefits of tourism, assist the facilitation of a strong, healthy and diverse local economy with emphasis on the development of new or expanded tourism enterprises for the region, and provide visitors with a range of quality information and booking services including the Capricorn Visitor Centres, 1800 tourist information number and consumer websites. Capricorn Enterprise has a membership base of approximately 400 members coming from a wide range of sectors including accommodation, attraction and tour operators, retail & service providers, mining and industry groups, real estate agents, media, web and graphic design and many more. These businesses have a common tie – they are committed to the development of tourism & the region’s economy within Capricorn and work closely with Capricorn Enterprise to make that happen.
