About Catholic Charities Maine
Inspired by scripture and the Church's social teaching, Catholic Charities empowers and stregnthens individuals and families of all faiths by providing innovative community-based social services throughout Maine. For more than 45 years, Catholic Charities Maine has worked to build healthy communities, promote family life, and enhance human dignity by providing quality accredited services to meet the daily needs of the poor and the most vulnerable throughout Maine. Our professionally trained staff and dedicated volunteers help individuals from birth through old age overcome obstacles in their lives that threaten their self-sufficiency. Last year, we provided services to over 49,000 individuals in Maine and touched the lives of countless others through our advocacy and convening efforts. While some of the people we serve are Catholic, many are not. Some can afford to pay for the services they receive, but most cannot. Our agency attempts to help all who request assistance either through direct assistance or appropriate referral. Catholic Charities Services include: Child Care Dental Services Education Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired Elder and Disabled Services Therapeutic Foster Care Mental Health Services Substance Abuse Programs Parish Social Ministry Refugee Resettlement Services Interpreter Services Food Bank
