The Center for an Agricultural Economy envisions a future with thriving landscapes, healthy local food, and vital, equitable communities. We believe a place-based agricultural economy and intentional community development is the path to this future. Our mission is to build a regenerative, locally based, healthy food system by engaging the greater Hardwick community through collaboration opportunities, educational outreach, food access and providing infrastructure. Our programs include farm and food business advising, shared-use commercial kitchens, farm-to-institution supply chain, innovative financing, place-based education, food access and equity, community commons at Atkins Field, and Northeast Kingdom Organizing.
