Starting as a local catering company in Lacombe... then to a 60 seat restaurant in Ponoka, we’ve come back to the city where it all started, and our journey now continues … Our story begins back in 2009, with the start of Cilantro Catering. After a couple functions for friends and family under our belt, we began a search for a more permanent home and stumbled on one in Ponoka. With the addition of Cilantro and Chive in 2012 we have never looked back. In 2014 the building we leased in Ponoka had sold - and our lease was then up in 2015. Again we were on the hunt for a permanent home. With some luck and incredible support of those who believed in us, we found 5021 50th Street, in the heart of downtown Lacombe. It needed a lot of work and some love, but we saw the potential of what it could become. Now, we are proud to show off the hard work that has gone in to this building to everyone who comes through those doors. What was once ; a bus depot, a bike shop, a train store, an antique store, a general store… has now become our home here at Cilantro and Chive. Focusing on Fresh and local ingredients; Simple, warm and sincere hospitality; and Eats that make you feel right at home. With over 200 Craft Beers and Ciders, rotating local beers on tap, games for the kids and big kids alike, epic food, and an atmosphere we hope you will always remember!
