Founded in 1989, Clean & Sober Transitional Livingsm (CSTL, Inc.) has helped more than 7000 clients learn how to commit to their recovery in a safe, secure, supportive and affordable sober living environment. Residents are key to CSTL’s powerful system of care built on the integrity, commitment and support of fellow residents and staff. Clean & Sober Transitional Living’s 12 homes with 117 plus residents represent the oldest and largest transitional living community in Northern California. The Alcohol Research Group cites CSTL’s "best practices" as the gold standard in building sobriety that stands the test of time. Don Troutman, founder and owner, is a pioneer in the recovery field. He served on the Board of Directors for the California Association of Addiction Recovery Resources (CAARR, now CCAPP) from 2001- 2007 and again in 2008-2009. He was also a past Chairman of the Sacramento Sober Living Committee, a member of the California Legislative Committee on Addiction and former president of the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce. Don is a Certified Alcoholism and Other Drug Addictions Recovery Specialist II (CAS II) and nationally certified (NCAC I). He is one of the developers and an instructor for Sober Living Specialists (SLS). As a Vietnam Veteran, Don takes special interest in reaching out to all military veterans. In recovery since 1985, Don has dedicated his life to helping the newcomer to recovery claim a strong and healthy future of sobriety.
