About Clermont Pets Alive!
Clermont Pets Alive! (CPA!) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2012. Our mission is to promote and provide the resources, education and programs needed to eliminate the killing of healthy and treatable companion animals at the Clermont County, Ohio Animal Shelter. Run exclusively by dedicated volunteers, CPA! strives to increase the save rate for all animals at our Animal Shelter above 90%. CPA! works to launch and maintain innovative and progressive programs modeled after the best practices of other cities who are no-kill or are in the process of becoming no-kill. Compared to other cities, Cincinnati is rich in prevention resources such as spay/neuter. CPA! strives to fill the gaps in service areas that have been historically under-represented, such as high volume, high quality adoption. In our rescue program, we strive not to duplicate the work of other agencies. Instead we focus solely on the pets who have already been passed over by other groups and the shelters’ adoption programs and only take the healthy and treatable pets who are about to be killed and have no other options. These animals are vetted and placed into foster homes until we're able to place them with families.
