DEDE (pronounced day-day) is a fashion brand that focuses on showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of Nigerian talents. We are based in Lagos, Nigeria and all our clothes are made ethically with limited waste. We are promoting a culture of excellence in customer service and product quality from Africa by recruiting and training workers locally to improve their skills. They are also economically empowered by the proper compensation they receive from us alongside feeding and healthcare allowances. We operate on a slow fashion model by manufacturing clothing according to demand and we also offer a made-to-measure option for improved size inclusivity and customer satisfaction. Our vision is to stand out as a Nigerian fashion brand that upholds excellence in our services and creativity. Our mission at DEDE is to ethically produce clothing that showcases exquisite craftsmanship by Nigerian artisans. With unique creative insight and a strong appreciation for quality tailoring, DEDE was founded by Dedeola Taiye Awoniyi. During her formative years, she scribbled, sketched and doodled designs on every surface within her reach. After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Business administration, she gained a rich experience working in the fashion industry in Nigeria and completed fashion school where she improved her knowledge in fashion design and tailoring. In November 2019, DEDE was open for business.
