About Dewlay Cheesemakers
Dewlay was founded in 1957 by George Kenyon and over the next 50 years earned a reputation for producing some of the very best Lancashire cheese available. You will find Dewlay cheese in specialist farm shops and delicatessens, traditional markets and in local and national retailers alike. 2012 has seen the dairy win numerous prestigious awards, including a Gold Award & two trophies at the Royal Bath & West National Cheese Awards. The dairy has also opened their cheesemaking to the public with a purpose built viewing gallery. Products: Dewlay's range of Lancashire cheese is produced using fresh pasteurised milk sourced directly from dairy farms located within a 6 mile radius of the dairy and made using our own unique starter culture which was developed on site more than 40 years ago. Dewlay produce an award winning range of Creamy, Crumbly and Tasty Lancashire, Garstang Blue, Red Leicester, Double Gloucester in traditional wheels and truckles, as well as in modern block formats. Did you know that a lot of Lancashire you see on shop shelves is mass produced and isn’t even made in Lancashire?
