Drèsd is a sustainable clearance and re-purposing company working directly with major film and television studios and productions. Founded in 2011, by Lynn and Duncan McFarlane as a family run business. Through their combined skills, they developed a unique idea of re-purposing and recreating using waste materials. By taking various items sourced from industries such as the Ford Motor company and John Lewis, Drèsd was able to create up-cycled products, becoming a specialist supplier of re-purposed materials. Drèsd later approached the film industry to propose a re-purposing model that would actively promote a greener and more ethical disposal of film set items; and currently the only company within the film industry to re-purpose, or redistribute items from production with environmental concern as a priority. By working directly with the film industry to fill this role, acting as a link between the production, and the impact on the environment that each production potentially makes. It is Drésd’s priority to reduce the waste to landfill generated by the film industry, as well as use these opportunities to create uniquely themed and high quality products. Having worked with fashion designers and brands, corporate companies, private clients and charity corporations, the company has earned exceptional experience in the industry and the diversity of projects has helped to shape the companies ethical beliefs. Drèsd works as a responsible trader through the aspects of sustainable clearance, event design and interior design. Drèsd is a full re-purposing service, saving sets from landfill and helping productions to meet their corporate social responsibilities. Drèsd assist productions to work within the BS8909, the Interior Design SKA Gold rating and the ISO 20121 Event standard.
