Where We Started It all started with a few friends and an idea. An idea at the time we never knew would lead us in such an incredible direction. It was a simple idea; that entrepreneurs and founders everywhere could get funding and mentorship to build their company and build themselves in the process. When the company first launched we were at a time when funding was disappearing and bad advice was destroying business after business. DSSD knew from that minute we were here to stay......and here we are! What We Learned It has been an amazing journey; we aren’t saying it hasn’t been a bumpy ride, but that’s the way it should be. A cobblestone road may be a bumpier ride, but it’s stronger, last longer, and has more character than an asphalt road would any day. Throughout our Investments we have learned; from the deals, from the founders, even from ourselves. Out of everything we’ve learned, there are two things every founder needs to understand. It’s about the people and it’s about collaboration. Whether it’s your customers, your co founders, or your vendors, you have to listen to the people involved, all,of them. Your team is not the people in your office, your team is everyone who touches your idea, down to the guy who sweeps the floor. Webster’s Dictionary defines collaboration as; working jointly with others or together especially in an intellectual endeavor. The basic principles will always be the most important, live it, learn it, never forget it.
