About Durham University Hong Kong Society
Founded in 2005, Durham University Hong Kong Society (DUHKS) is the representative body of Hong Kong students at Durham. DUHKS has been welcoming passionate students who are interested in Hong Kong culture and public affairs. We are a unique student body because we value a balanced university experience; we are academically driven, active on the social scene and are also strongly involved in the wider community via a range of volunteering work. DUHKS provides a platform for members to integrate through five core aspects: public affairs, social services, careers, socials, and sports. In order to extend members’ interests in the public affairs and social service spheres, we organise monthly public affairs forums and regular social service trips. We assist members to fulfil their potentials within and beyond university, by providing various careers support, including events such as the Durham Business Challenge and Alumni Networking Night. Besides, we organise social and sporting events, such as the Pre-departure Reception and Northern Games, to provide opportunities for members to mingle and exchange ideas.
