About Eastern Oklahoma Development District
Eastern Oklahoma Development District is split into 4 main groups. EODD’s Economic Development Department provides regional planning and development assistance for economic expansion in the seven county District. REAP: The Rural Economic Action Plan of 1996 appropriates money to each of the 11 Sub State Planning Districts of COGS for rural development projects. CDBG: Community Development Block Grants are HUD monies distributed by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Eligible entities are cities, towns, and county governments. Area Agency On Aging(AAA): The Area Agency on Aging is the agency through which federal, state and local funds are processed to provide resources or referrals for older persons age 60 and older in the designated planning and service area of Adair, Cherokee, McIntosh, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner counties. Capital Improvement Planning: As the State and Federal Governments address their own deficiencies, more of the responsibility for financing and managing local capital assets is diverting to local governments. Therefore, it is essential that a program of planned repair and replacement for local capital assets be implemented in order to maximize the impact of the dollars spent on your community’s infrastructure. Rural Fire Defense: The Rural Fire Defense Program provides technical assistance, grant assistance, ISO rating information and assistance, equipment acquisition assistance as well as updates on training requirements.
